If your old dryer has a big thick cable that plugs into a 3 slot receptical mounted on the wall behind the old dryer, not in the wall, then you almost certainly have a 240 connection. Open the door on the Main (where the breakers are to shut of the electricity) and if the breaker is a double breaker, two switches together, then it's a 240. Generally speaking, NOBODY calls it a 240 line, it's a 220 Line.
