“Why is the gas fitting connection plastic? Has anyone had problems with this breaking and causing gas leak? Makes me very nervous”

The guy that installed it said that the other ones rupture easily and can cause leaks or fires. I've only had mine for a little over a month so I dont know how durable it is.
