QuestionWe received our 7.0 chest freezer and removed the cardboard box from over/around it. It sits on a Styrofoam base. Can that base be kept of or will it prevent necessary for of air to the freezer motor unit?

- Answer akgal, we do recommend to remove all packing around the Freezer. If this is left, it can prevent proper airflow.

QuestionDoes the plastic cover on the bottom side of the lid feel solid (supported by insulation) or if it is pushed on does it push in like there is only air under it? Our current Woods freezer only had air and continues to freeze up with ice. Needs to be solid.

QuestionDoes this freezer have a vented cover plate in the rear where the power cord comes out? I am looking at Amana because the GE model has a big hole where critters can make a home and screw holes but does not have a cover plate available.

QuestionIs it okay to install the Amana 7.0 chest freezer on carpeted flooring! ? The carpeting is not a plush pile. Are there leveling feet on the bottom of the freezer?

- Answer Hi akgal as a best practice we do not suggest the freezer be installed on top of carpet. That said, we do not have a restriction where we would say No to setting one up on carpet. The most important location note has to do with the floor being able to support the weight of the fully loaded freezer and proper air circulation. The AQC0701GRW does have leveling legs
