Yes it tracks your steps. I was using my Iphone to monitor my steps, and opted to get this instead. As I recall when I first got it, I noticed they slightly differed in the steps count. You can set your goals, Weight, sleep, steps, calories but I need to read up on how best to utilize them. For me, it set me up for a goal of 8,000 steps a day, which usually the goal would be 10,000. I am 5'2, 134 pounds 60 yrs old. Another pound and it would consider me as obese, oh well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It only tracks WALKING steps. So basically, if you are doing other forms of exercise, like the elliptical or biking or other gym machines, none of that goes towards your total steps...which is just nuts. I thought I was going crazy after going nuts for 30 minutes on the recumbent bike then 30 on the elliptical only to see no steps recorded. Yet if I march in place it loves me.
