• It needs to connect to something to keep the correct time and sync data. I don’t think it necessarily has to be a phone.

• Hi there, You need to have a mobile phone to download the Zepp app to setup the watch , after setting the watch can be paired with an iPad via the Zepp app or work independently of the phone for most features. Kieron | Amazfit Support
