“Not sure of the reader I have now, but it has the same 167ppi. However, I cannot read in dark light. Can this one be used in dark light? The one I have has not adjustable backlight or size adjustment. Please help, thanks.”

Yes, the Kindle can be used to read in the dark. You can adjust the brightness. It's very clear and easy to read.
