It works off the wifi and Bluetooth, so I doubt it'll work in the car and if so, I'm not sure how well. I'm not aware of anything else other than satellite radio. Personally I have Spotify connected to my echo and smartphone. which can both play through the Echo. I hope this helps.

For example, it syncs up with Hyundai's Blue Link so if you have a subscription it can remotely start your car or lock your doors. Ford is also implementing Echo into their vehicles probably in a similar fashion.
