• It will activate echo. However you can use the Alexa app on your phone to rename her. You can call her by some other name.

• I don’t know if you can change the name, but there is a button on the Echo that mutes the device. You can mute it when you’re not talking to the Echo & activate it when you are talking to it. That way it’s not listening all the time. Otherwise, yes, calling ‘alexis’ will probably activate ‘alexa’

• When you set up your device in your Alexia app you can change the wake up name. If it hears something that sounds like the wake up name it will respond.
