• Have not tried a Google Home, but Alexa gets most of what I asked. Weather, sports, celebrity birthdays... the basics. If the question goes beyond simple, she’s out though.

• Echo is good for devices, music and many other skills. But google have its own search engine, maps so it is better than echo in general search parameters.

• The echo plus can have a smart home hub for thing like Phillips bulbs. If you use things like tp-link plus it is not needed.
