Hooked on Echo
|Posted .I am slowly building a connected home using Amazon Echo as my base. I now have 5 connected devices in multiple rooms. I even put one in my office at work. Set up is super easy. Skills get added daily. It is becoming a personal assistant of sorts. I can make phone calls through it without touching my phone, add appointments or meeting to my calendar, get notifications, order food, set alarms, play whatever music I'm in the mood for, listen to the news, sports, and weather and so much more. The home automation is limitless for me too. This thing will even tell me how much gas is in my jeep or if it needs service.

Great sound
|Posted .So glad we finally purchased our Alexa Echo. It connects to our home automation system locking doors and turning on lights. We use it every am for weather and news and play music. We plan on purchasing at least 2 more and connect together for home wide music.

Great Smart Speaker
|Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Echo speakers are beautiful, sound wonderful, work with all sorts of other devices and are good with getting information and answering questions. The Google assistants are a bit better at getting information and answering questions (I've tested both with various questions). But the Google speakers don't sound as well, don't look as good and do not play with other devices as well as Echos. The Echos are incredibly easy to set up and have been pretty much trouble free.

Very cool smart assistant-kiddos love them!
|Posted .The Amazon Echo is a smart home assistant, a rich sounding speaker, a fun interactive device for the whole family. My kiddos love theirs and they can control lighting with alexa and can be used for phone calls as well as "drop in" for intercom to other echo devices. Highly recommend this item.

Sounds very good, looks great
|Posted .I upgraded to the new Echo from an Echo Dot 2 connected to a Big Jambox. The sound is considerably better and the new charcoal grey cloth styling looks terrific. The new 7 microphone array understands commands much better than the Dot.

I love it just wish I could attach it to speakers
|Posted .I love it just wish I could attach it to speakers. It was the best Christmas present I bought for myself. Love it so much I ordered two more so I could have a stereo affect. Plus I bought one of the small units for in the bedroom.

Q: QuestionMy echo 2nd gen cant play music...every request she just responds there is nothing in my library and refers me to iheart radio or amazon music app. Everyone i know that has echo just asks her to play a particular artist or song and she does, but not mine.
Asked by Sunspot44.
This question was asked about the related product: Amazon - Echo (2nd Gen) - Smart Speaker with Alexa - Charcoal Fabric- A:Answer Hi Sunspot, You must first connect (or link) your music service (Pandora, I heart radio, spotify, siriusxm) with your Echo first. Open your app and touch the three horizontal bars on the top left of the app. When it opens, touch Music, Video & Books. Scroll down until you see your music service and touch that name. When it opens, you will see the "Link Your Account" in blue. Just touch there and follow the prompts. Repeat that with your other services and there you go. Alexa will also wake you to your favorite station or song in the morning. In the menu, go to Reminders & Alarms. You can tell her to wake you at the same time every day, or set it to a different time each night. Touch "Manage Alarm Volume", you can adjust the volume of your alarm in the morning. The first time I set the alarm, I did not do this and it awakened me quite abruptly:) If you have any other problems, you can call Amazon tech Support and follow the prompts until you get to Echo support. They are open 24 hours a day. Good Luck! I hope you enjoy yours, as much as I am enjoying mine. Happy Holidays P.S. There are many things you can link to your Echo... lights, plugs, switches, A/C controllers, cameras, motion sensors.... that will allow you to turn on lights and other features just by saying... Alexa, turn on Master bedroom light.

Q: QuestionI have an iPhone 6s. My husband does not have an iPhone. I have Pandora on my iPhone. Can my husband ask Alexa to play music while I am at work? If so, will I be using data from my iPhone plan?
Asked by Annmarie.
This question was asked about the related product: Amazon - Echo (2nd Gen) - Smart Speaker with Alexa - Charcoal Fabric- A:Answer Hi, You can link your Alexa to your Pandora account. You can also link it to your Sirius, I Heart Radio, Spotify, Tunein, Amazon Music unlimited accounts. Go into the Alexa app and touch the three horizontal slashes on the top left to open the menu. Then, touch Music, Videos & Books. Then you will touch Pandora or either of the other services and follow the instructions to link your Pandora account to the Alexa. It will give you easy to follow directions to do this. Once it is connected, you will be able to ask Alexa to play any of the stations you have created on Pandora. You will also be able to ask Alexa to create a new station just by asking her to play a station you do not already have. She will ask you if you want her to create that station. Just say yes and it is saved to your account. Connecting to music on your Echo will have no affect on your data plan on your phone. These are two completely separate things. One other thing you can do is ask her to pause your music (if you receive a phone call or someone comes to the door), and then resume when you are ready (Alexa, pause music) You can also ask her to stop playing music in 15 (or any time amount you set) minutes at the end of the night when going to sleep. If you want to wake to music, you can ask Alexa to wake you at 6:30 am to a favorite radio station you have. To adjust the volume for the alarm, go into menu, then Reminders & Alarms, then alarms. The top line says "Manage alarm volume and default sound". Touch that and move the black dot to where you want it to be. At 50%, it is pretty loud, so do a test alarm to see where you want it to be. Good Luck and Happy New year!
