Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I researched and didnt think the current model of google play was ready and I didnt want to get frustrated so I went with ALEXA. Now what to choose Dot or ALEXA hmmmmm because I was buyin g a bluetooth speaker I went with dot and just paired it so I am able to use the bluetooth for other items (ipod, phone, tv etc) so for me the echo Dot worked out fine but if you dont have bluetooth then go with ALEXA with built in speaker.

The main diff between dot & Alexa was the speaker & how to control the volume (ring on the Alexa & a button on the dot). Oh, & the BIG price tag that comes with Alexa! The speaker on the dot is just fine for me even with playing music. And if I wanted more out of the speaker, I could blue tooth to a speaker I already have. And I'm happy I went this route to buy the dot. I did reviews between the Amazon products vs Google Play... census was Amazon's was better, saying Google play needed work.
