The features/benefits you speak of have nothing to do with who bought the Echo. It has to do with what Amazon account your Alexa app is logged into when you perform the setup steps to connect the Echo to your WiFi. If the person that gives you the Echo is willing to let you have their Amazon login info, then YUP you'd be all set ;-) If the person gives you a USED Echo without wiping the settings, then what I stated above STILL matters to a degree. B/c the Echo won't have your WiFi info when you plug it in, so it'll be offline. The only way for you to get it online would be to add your WiFi connection to the Echo - which requires you to log into the Alexa app and perform the add. If the gifter gives you their password: all good. If you have to use your own Amazon login: you have to wipe/reset the Echo - and, of course, it'll be reinitialized with your non-Prime settings.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes if you keep it attached to the prime members account
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You don't need to be a Prime members to play music. However, not every song will be played in it's entirety. Some songs will only play for 10 seconds or so. Highly suggest you consider downloading the Amazon Music Unlimited app. You can get a 30 day free trial. You can keep the app on your phone and Echo or Dot for about $8 per month or just on the Echo/Dot for about $4.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The only way you will get there extra stuff as a prime member is if they have the echo linked to their account. If they just give you a brand new one that has not been set up you will have to use your account.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. But if you sign up for Amazon music unlimited, its $3.99 instead of $7.99 per month, just because you own an echo. However, you can only use it on your echo.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I do not believe it would work. You have to have your own account, which really makes the device go from good to great.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, you would need to be a member yourself. But echo does a lot for non members
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can have your friend down load the app from his phone to get prime if he has it
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, you would have to have your own Prime account in order to take advantage of all the Prime benefits. Though if they gave you access to their Amazon account and other pertinent info, then you could utilize it. Go to the Alexa app and you will find thousands of music selections as well as other apps that can be used without having to have a Prime account. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. Unless that person shares the prime account with you.
