what generation is this Amazon - Echo Dot on BestBuy? null

Second generation. The only difference in second and third generation is the third comes with a high quality speaker. The second generation's speaker is still very good and you can add it to your own speakers via Bluetooth or wire if you want.

You can only find the 2nd gen's on the Market. I have both the 1st and 2nd gen. Amazon pulled the 1st gen's within a month of people buying them from the echo online purchase. The only difference is the 1st gen's are larger in size, but function the same way.
