• Wow..good question I wondered bout that myself as for bringing with to a motels with bad wifi..I don't know., haven't tried yet, because see it uses your cell phone to setup, WiFi password, etc.. maybe use one iphone as a hotspot, and other to do the setup!! That might fool it!! Good Luck

• Yes, they will. I use my phone as HotSpot but the HotSpot on your phone will have to be on all the time you use your assistant. You will not be able to take advantage of smart plugs to control items when you are not home because your HotSpot will not be active.
