Yes it does. I've connected to external bluetooth speaker (Bose) with no issues. Also, my Iphone.

Yes.. you can connect compatible devices on the Alexa app on the iPhone.. I connected it to my sound bar thru bluetooth. Once the Dot has it registered, I just ask it “Alexa connect to Bluetooth speaker” and it automatically connects and I stream music to it.

It connected to my Sony stereo that has bluetooth. All you do is pair it up like any other device. Its pretty easy.
