After the one year is up, Parents will have to pay if they want to renew the service. Amazon Kids Plus gives kids access to thousands of hours of kid-friendly Audible books, interactive games, and educational skills. Without the service, the device will continue to work and parents can grant access to new features and skills via the Amazon Parent Dashboard. Parents can fully utilize parental controls, set daily time limits, filter explicit songs, and review activity. If you purchase as a gift, whatever account the device is linked to can choose to subscribe after the year is up. Hope that helps!
