If you wish to have the Echo Dot with clock connected to your husbands phone as well, simply download the Alexa app to his phone and go through the same steps to search for the device/add device etc. It is completely up to you on how you would like to work with Alexa. It may come in handy to have her on his phone simply to communicate with each other if he's not in the same room you are and you wish to drop in on him or or he drops in on you etc etc There are many things Alexa can help with, you may even check into the screened devices in the future- you can hold things in front of the cameras and she can tell you what you are holding!!
