I bought an echo plus 2 weeks ago. Set up was fairly simple. All I had to do was simply plug it in to a wall outlet. The rest of the set up is done on the Alexa app on your smartphone or tablet. It connects to your wifi. With the app, you can then connect the Hue light bulbs or other Alexa enabled devices. My two favorites are that I connected my sirius xm account so now I can say "Alexa play Sirius XM channel 8" and my other favorite is the app called Our Groceries. I downloaded Our Groceries on my phone and my husband's phone. Then I connected Our Groceries to the Alexa app. You can do this with the Alexa app. So now I can say "Alexa ask Our Groceries to add Milk to the list". Now we don't forget things when we go to the store! Everything shows up on our phones. :-) I hope that helps!
