• With the echo plus , it has a built in smart hub which can control the lights and other things in your house. I bought the hue lights so you can dim them or change the color of the lights by asking Alexa to change it.

• Echo plus allows you to connect with bulbs and other wireless items without buying a external hub.

• Echo plus has a built in bridge by Zigbee. It’s limited to what currently works with it. The second gen can do everything the plus does except act as a bridge for smart home devices.
