I bought ours for 149 new at Best Buy. Everyone kept telling me they where 279. They do go on sale!

If you take the time to think about it, The product is awesome and some people might want to purchase it for friends and family OR many of us have them in several rooms of the house. One of the perks is you can use it as an intercom as well if needed to speak with people/ kids upstairs. IM sure when they made such an offer of 100 off, they had the above in mind and not ALL about ONE person in mind.
