If you have given Alexa access to your phone contacts through the app it will dial anyone in your contacts by saying their name.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.While I don't believe you can call 911 directly off the echo you can pretty much call anyone else you have in your phone book. "Alexa, call ... ". You can ask it to call family, friends or you could even find the local number of your 911 dispatch center and give it a name. "Alexa, call HELP" ... I would name the dispatch help and then you can at least remember it. If you google the name of your town/city and type non emergency, you should be given the dispatch's number. So if you lived in lets say Sarasota Florida, you'd type "Sarasota non emergency" and it would give you the local numbers to the police department where dispatch for all 3 services (police, fire, ems) are done.
