• Yes it does. When the room or area where the echo is located is dark, the screen darkens and as soon as the lights come on the screen brightens up again.

When enabled, your Echo device's screen gradually brightens 15 minutes before your alarm goes off. You're able to set a sunrise alarm between 4 a.m. and 9 a.m. Sunrise alarms are enabled by default on some devices. 1. Say, "Go to settings," or swipe down from the top of the screen and select Settings. 2. Select Display and Brightness. 3. Select on or off for the sunrise feature. I hope that information helps!
