Yes it will play music and if you have multiple it will play all at same time

You can speak to the actual Echo Show 8 and it can play music from Amazon Alexa Skills you have enabled, just like any Echo{Alexa device} . I hope you are aware, however, that you are asking this on the ad that is showing the STAND for the Echo Show 8. The STAND merely allows you to mount the Echo Show 8, it is NOT the Echo Show 8 itself.

Yes Alexa does! It’s a wonderful feature, I ask for my favorite radio station and I get the music playing!
