Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes but you need to do more to be sure it can. I've only had the Echo Show (and a few other Echo devices) for a short time. The system automatically linked with my cell phone - so I can ask the Echo to make phone calls for me. It knows my phone book contact list already so I can just name a person I know and it will call them. You could ask it to "CALL 9-1-1" or if you enter the number in your contact list and give it a name like "HELP" your parents could then just say CALL HELP and the number you have in your contact list for HELP - as 911 - will be called. Echo Show also can dial a phone number you dictate to it. If the Echo is linked to a phone I know for certain it can make calls. I don't know exactly how or why it connected to my cell phone but that I would guess is the key for you and anyone home alone who may need to make an emergency call.
