Yes this is a Kindle Fire HD 6 inch model released in the last half of 2014. Once you register this Kindle to your Amazon account all previous content that was purchased from your Amazon account (from any device) will be immediately available on this Kindle; no further purchases necessary.

Yes. If you do keep your Kindle as I did you can read from both devices (whichever you have with you ) and can sync to page you are on from the one previously used.

Yes I had no issues transferring my Kindle ebooks, music, pictures on this Kindle Fire. The only thing I'd like to mention is you only have access to 8GB but only 5GB are available to you. I worked around this with putting all my books on the cloud since I have 15GB there as it stands. I try not to have too many apps on this Kindle. This is my back up E-book reader which falls in to my media consumption device. My other tablet is a Nexus 7 2013.

Yes, it is a Kindle and yes, your Kindle books are transfered to any Kindle or Kindle app when you register it with your Kindle user name and password.

Yes Kindle transfers all content with your account, you may need to download it again though.
