Well, I love Kindle Fire. I bought its first generation years ago. It is different from ipad. Honestly I love both. You know kindle fire has collaboration with amazon, which is a good deal. Kindle fire is smaller than ipad, which is convenient to bring somewhere else. And it is cheap for family kids.

The 6" Kindle Fire HD is a great tablet for my toddler. The Amazon FreeTime experience is very cheap when combined with Amazon Prime. It also allows a child's profile that can be used and great parental controls that are much more user friendly than the iPad Restrictions. The only bad thing about it is the somewhat slow processor and limited ability to customize the interface (you cannot change the background or the lock screen) but overall it is a great product for a sub $100 tablet. I don't use the "normal" amazon features (books, movies, shopping...) but the app library selection available for children along with the Amazon FreeTime subscription and extensive parental controls are combined add up to a much better user experience than what the Apple ecosystem offers.

Great visuals, easy to setup, easy to use. Has a lot of features for an inexpensive device. Small, light, can take anywhere. Add another 8 GB, would rate it a 5. Memory is cheap today as compared to the past. C'mon guys.

I bought this Kindle to replace a second gen Kindle and I was really hoping I wasn't going to be disappointed. Well..... Not only was I not disappointed but very pleasantly surprised when I saw what it could do. Very user friendly, and full of tech and plenty of apps to keep you busy. An excellent product and I guarantee that you will be very hard pressed to find a better product at the price point! A WIN WIN!

I all ready had a Kindle Fire HD as well as the Kindle app for my MacBook Air and iPad. However their size is an issue to carrying everyday. I was looking for a device that would fit in the inside coat/jacket pocket. I purchased the 6 screen based on it's size and readability. I transferred all my reading collection and a couple of apps. It works as well as the full Size Fire HD. I have since reset the original and passed it on to my Grandson. I find my self carrying the new one nearly every day regardless of where I go. Battery life is good and screen very readable. For me, it is a prefect reader.

This is my son's 2nd tablet due to not having a good case. I have no complaints. This is the best investment I could have made. My son has used a Kindle Fire since he was three. It entertains him all the time, everyday. I have the Amazon Prime membership, so he watches videos, plays games, & listen to music all the time. I have an 11-year old who does the same. It keeps a good charge & works great. It has parent controls, so you can control what you want your child to view. I have also downloaded books for my 11-year old. My husband & mother want to purchase one themselves.

When I bought this tablet, I was only looking to get a decent e-reader. After using this for a couple of weeks now I can say, this is so much more than just an "e-reader". Videos look amazing on this HD device. If your looking for an entry-level tablet, this is the one; very user friendly, a lot of great features (I love the "X-Ray" feature) and best of all...it's economical.

I bought the Kindle Fire HD 6 for my grandson so he would leave mine and his moms alone. It has good parental controls and he loves it to play his games and do educational things on. The only problem I found was space. Because you have to have an adult acount attached to each device and we have several devices (one for each grandchild) the space fills quickly because it pulls everything on that account to every device. That is the only problem we have had and is the reason for only 4 stars.

I purchased this as a gift for my dad. He loves it. It's easy to navigate and small enough to keep in your pocket. Works great and the picture quality is nice

The best present ever for the grandkids including the 2 year old with a special heavy duty case. The little one plays kids games and takes amazing pictures the other 3 are reading tons of books ---for every two hrs. of reading they get half hour of game time. They love them so much they are trying to carry them to school-prime hd fire has great parental controls so they can monitor content and time on task including time to shut down for evening. The size is great for smaller kids and it is extremely durable. Kids will be kids and he has dropped it a few times but still works great with no problems. Video quality is great for all his movie watching and easy for him to play his games too. Its also password protected so he can't just buy games and has to come ask me before getting any apps or games.

My son loves his Kindle Fire. Its easy for him to navigate, the size is perfect and the picture is great.

We couldn't be more happy with the two tablets we got out kids for Christmas ages 6&7. We have tried other tablets in the past and these new fire HD 6's have exceeded our expectations with the free time controls. My kids have to read a book for 30 minutes (which is part of their school homework) before they can play games. It also shuts down at bedtime!!! Would bee a good tablet for Adults and teens too! Picture quality on Netflix is Great!!

Just the right size for reading books, and also for checking mail and light browsing on the web. I haven't tried movies on it as I use my iPad, but this also works great for my game apps as well as entertaining the grandkids with apps and books. Much lighter than my iPad but wish there was better brightness adjustment. I would have gotten the paperwhite, but just couldn't pass up the $84 deal for this.

I had just purchased my Fire Hd Tv and was looking for a smaller tablet to use to carry around the house instead of my IPad and started to look at the Fire Hd 6 inch tablet and was amazed from the moment I opened it and started to download some apps,a fantastic picture and light as a feather and for under 100.00,when my IPad needs replacing my new tablet will be from the Fire line.

Bought this kindle for my 5 yr. Old. Absolutely love it. I own the Kindle fire hdx and she always watches my prime with all the little kid shows and movies. So we decided to get her one for Christmas. It's a nice fit for her little hands and the ease of navigating it is perfect.

This was purchased for my 10 year old son for Christmas. He had a Lenovo which he loved until he dropped it and it quit working. Wanted to go with a lesser price tablet in case of another accident. He has been pleased with it so far other than it is only 8G vs the 16 G he had before. He has load all his games and even a couple of movies/books. Seems to be fairly fast loading and playing.

I purchased 2 of these units for my son (age 7) and daughter (age 9). They were quick to configure and they are used on a regular basis by each child. They use them for gaming, learning and web surfing all the time. They have quick response no matter where they are in the house or in other places. They are a bit fragile, my son dropped his and it did put a glass crack across it, but did not hurt the unit overall. We spent some extra money to get covers for them and no issues after. I think for the money they are a great purchase. My wife and I have an IPAD, but I find myself using their tablets more to surf the web and do online banking things..it is smaller and just more handy than the IPAD and I really do not notice any speed difference between the 2 devices. I am not an expert so that probably is not true, but for the casual user, I do not notice a difference. And lets face it there is quite a desparity in price.

Love the parental controls so that I am able to keep track of what he is doing and making sure he is not getting to anything he should not. Holds a good charge and is overall exactly what we were looking for.

This tablet is better than I thought. I own an ipad and various android tablets and my wife asked for a Kindle. At first I was hesitant but I got it for her anyway and wow, it's pretty awesome. Small, lightweight, easy to use. If you're in need of something small and don't need bells and whistles this is your tablet.
