We wanted to provide our "pre-teen" with a device that could be used at home and on the road as we traveled. The device works well (as there are many apps to choose from - and growing) and allows our "pre-teen" to connect with us via text messages. The only down side is that he couldn't connect with Pinger/TextFree on an Amazon product (as this is only compatible with Android & Apple products). He was able to sign up with Text Me and we are connected all of the time.

It's a great size...not too big. It is just what I need to read my books and also to enjoy the many apps you can download.

This is a great product from Amazon. I purchased this Kindle for my son. He loves the apps as well as some of the other functions on this device. It was a great price and is comparable to some of the more expensive devices. He absolutely loves it!

This would be perfect if it had a sd card slot! That is the ONLY reason it's 4 stars. Other than that, it's awesome! I had a book color for years and loved it, but when it started acting up, I decided to give kindle a try and I'm really glad I did. But I have a TON of books and use this for books. There's not enough storage. Even the bigger storage wouldn't be enough. Other than that I love it.

Since I am a Amazon Prime member, I wanted a tablet that will allow me use Prime features (videos and music) and an everyday tablet. When I noticed that Best Buy had this as a deal of the day, I picked it up. The tablet has a nice weight to it., decent quality resolution, and enough space for browsing the web, checking emails, and watching videos.

Great device for my twelve year old. Works great. Good battery life. Great for playing games.

The kindle fire hd 6 is a great tablet. The front and rear facing cameras are perfect for fun videos and social networking. The HD6 is easy to navigate, has great picture quality, parent controls, and offers a wide variety of books and apps at your fingertips.

This Kindle is easy to set up, robust, with a strong battery and incredible graphics. I bought this to take with me to Copenhagen this spring and was so delighted with it that I never had to open my Mac notebook which I had lugged with me. I have since brought it with me in my purse as it is so light weight.. I am so thrilled that I plan on buying one for my brother and my sons as well .

I bought five of these for my niece and nephews, ages 7-9. It's super affordable and easy for the kids.

I got this for my 3 year old son. He has had a Samsung Galaxy tab since he was one, and is technically inclined. Kindle has plenty to offer in the app store, and is smaller than his previous tablet. I have Amazon Prime and he can watch movies and listen to music for free. He really loves his kindle. I gave it four stars because I don't like the pop ups for advertising and I can't turn it off, even when not connected to wifi, or internet.

This little Kindle is great, especially for being under a hundred bucks. I do wish I would have gotten the 16 GB as the room on the device fills up quickly. If you are only streaming videos you will probably be fine with the remaining room being used for apps. If you are like me and download videos for the kids to use in the car, you will definitely want the extra room. In fact, I would say it's probably better to get the HDX and then upgrade to the 32 GB if you really want room to put movies on. Also, it could just be me used to my iPhone 6+ and iPad, but the battery life on this 6" Fire is subpar. It seems to last for a few hours, and then it's ready for a charge. We keep it plugged in while in the van on trips so it doesn't die, but when running on battery, be prepared to charge it frequently. Yes everything sounds negative about this review, but in truth, we really like the device. It is miles better than so many other $99 tablets out there, and my kids love it just as much as my wife's iPad Mini Retina. Probably the best Kids Tablet period, and a solid tablet for anyone for under a hundred. PS Kindle FreeTime for the kids is awesome! And one of the main reasons I bought the fire in the first place.

Why buy the $80 Kindle when you can pick this up for $20 more. If your Prime member you'll get one free ebook a month, access to Prime music also Prime movies. Battery is decent, small enough to fit in a purse or back pocket. Amazon claims that this can take a small fall. It's a bit heavy for it's size but a responsible weight.

I love my kindle fire!! It is the perfect size and allows me to anything that I would want to do on my laptop. I can read without an additional reading light, I can watch shows and movies, I can play games. It is the best thing!

I have been very impressed with my Amazon Kindle Fire it is easy to use. I actually bought 2 and gave one to my mother in the UK. She's a bit of a technophobe but has got the hang of it because the Kindle is so easy to use!
