Yes this is a Kindle Fire HD 6 inch model released in the last half of 2014. Once you register this Kindle to your Amazon account all previous content that was purchased from your Amazon account (from any device) will be immediately available on this Kindle; no further purchases necessary.

The only thing I'd like to mention is you only have access to 8GB but only 5GB are available to you. I worked around this with putting all my books on the cloud since I have 15GB there as it stands. I try not to have too many apps on this Kindle. This is my back up E-book reader which falls in to my media consumption device. My other tablet is a Nexus 7 2013.
