Why would you select a 16 over a 8 gigibite? null

I would choose the 16GB, because several APPS require being loaded on the internal memory - so this gives you adequate space for the "pre-installed" apps, and Kindle App, and Audible App - these do not allow you to move them to SD Card, so if you like books / audio books, go for the 16 GB. I have an 8 GB android Phone, and only have 2 GB free space, and can't move anything else to SD card. Apps are getting bigger, and some must be on the device internal storage.

This new model starts at 16 GB.
