• Yes. You can install apps to the external drive to save internal drive space. Love this about the Fire! No need to buy the 32 gig when you can expand the device by 256 gig!

• The Amazon stuff does take alot of memory and can't be uninstalled unless you root it

• Hello, kjtrox, you cannot uninstall the apps on the Kindle that were already preinstalled. You will have 16 GB of data or which ever Kindle you get you will have that data space.
