Go into your amazon account and go to your books. Tell Amazon to load the books to your new device and they will. You have do to this one at a time, but it can be done. No easy way to do that in bulk however..

Anything you have saved to a removable SD card, then of course yes. As far as direct transferring, sadly as of this response there's no direct support between the short-lived HDX and any of the more current models. Here's hoping that may change!
