Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This is the latest model Fire TV 2nd Generation. There may be a new model on the horizon but for now i don't believe it will be out for some time. So i would fully recommend this as it is a fantastic device you will not regret your purchase.

There are rumors of a Generation 3 model in development, but nothing confirmed or expected in the near future. That said, the Generation 2 model is a great unit! It is 75% faster than the Gen 1, and includes a built-in microSD port that can expand the storage up to 128GB. I have this model and a Firestick. It is my opinion that the Fire TV is totally worth the additional $40. The Firestick is great, but the Fire TV is much more responsive and quick in the menus and such. I also prefer the ethernet connection instead of WiFi for the reliability. To make room for the microSD slot, they did drop the optical audio output, so the only audio outputs are now HDMI and Bluetooth. Both generation still have a USB port. We use our Fire TV and Firestick for Playstation Vue streaming as well as Netflix.
