Generation 2. The gen 2 has the micro SD slot to expand the storage up to 128GB, and it dropped the optical audio output. We have the Generation 2 Fire TV and a Firestick that are both used for Playstation Vue. We purchased the Firestick first, and it does okay, but streaming over WiFi can be problematic at times as our Cox Cable provided WiFi router is sketchy. I purchased the Fire TV because it has the wired ethernet port in addition to WiFi. Its performance is excellent for PS Vue and more. The Firestick now resides in our bedroom for PS Vue while the Fire TV resides in the living room. Both work well while simultaneously streaming PS Vue over our 30mbp down Internet connection. I don't know if there is a limit to how many devices can be used on a PS Vue account simultaneously.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am not sure about which gen but I bought this to use the PS Vue app and it works great for me. As to how many in 1 household, I don't know. I have this amazon fire tv, a roku 3, and a ps4. All 3 can be watched at the same time.

I like the box better than stick because it's more stable and stronger (Box has quad core processor, the stick is dual core). I have PlayStation Vue as my streaming service for Live TV and I love it. Been with PS Vue 9 months. In my household I have at least 3 different televisions tuned to 3 different stations all at the same time with no issues, and I have DSL internet. I have not streamed on 5 TV's yet, but PlayStation Vue claims you can stream up to 5 different TV's at the same time.
