option 1 39.99 is simply a firestick with no processor and little cache and only connection to internet via wireless connection. relies upon your tv for its speed. option 2 firetv 89.99 has its own processor and larger cache for smoother streaming and video. also has ability to be wireless or hard wired to your internet

Please try again later.The fire stick is a much smaller more portable version, it doesn't have as fast of speeds for loading videos, and doesn't have much memeory for adding apps. Unless you travel a lot and are going to use the fire stick to watch Netflix and Amazon prime on the go in hotel rooms and stuff I would recommend just spending the extra money on the Amazon box. Also the Amazon box has an SD memory card slot to look at photos from a camera, etc... it's a much better way to enjoy apps and Amazon games etc..
