You need an hdmi cable if you don't already have one. You may also need a wireless service (router hooked to your internet modem). But this is dependent on the location of your TV and the proximity to your internet hookup . Alternatively you could connect a long internet cable (RJ45) from your modem into the Amazon fire stick or TV device. All the best.

The FireStick and Fire TV Box are 2 different and separate products. Neither requires the other. The Fire TV Box (which is now discontinued and being replaced) has twice as much RAM and more Storage. It is a much better product for video streaming.

We bought an Ethernet cord also to hook out modem straight through so it was faster and didn't buffer

Just need a tv with HDMI port. The box is only if your wanting to stream 4k quality( you will also need internet that can support 4k streaming)
