The remote should work. If you are able to put the tv on the right setting to watch the fire stick

It will allow you to control the power and TV Volume. If the Fire TV Stick is the only video source you are using, it would be the only remote you would need. However, if their are other video sources hooked in to the TV, or you would need to access any of the TV's other settings menus, you would still need to have a Samsung TV Remote or compatible 3rd party remote which can be purchased on Amazon.com as well as many retailers.
