You can use them buttons for quick access to the apps, or you can use amazon fire stick home page you can.if you dont wantbto use those button u can buy old covers and it will cover the buttons..i used my old cover and just cut holes out.i use

The buttons on the Fire Stick 4K Max remote are preset shortcuts for streaming apps, unfortunately can not be changed. However on the home screen of the Fire Stick you can make DirecTV a favorite app once logged into your Fire Stick.
