“I need more memory space. Can I remove the preloaded apps (Amazon) that I do not use to make more space for those that I do? If so, please tell me how. If not, please advise on adding more memory space.”

You can. There are some apps where you can't remove them but there are many that you can. Worst case scenario, there are better Fire Sticks out there with a lot more quality and if you wait for a sale you may be better off.
