• Hi AuntBee! Yes, you need an Amazon account (free to create) to register and set up any Fire TV Stick, including the 4K Select, but you do not need an Amazon Prime subscription. During setup, you'll connect to Wi-Fi, sign in with your Amazon account (or create one), and then can download apps like Netflix, Hulu, or Disney+, using your existing subscriptions or starting new ones. • YES. Unfortunately. Plus now firestick is locked down! Highly recommend considering the ONN 4k box which is under $20 elsewhere. Bestbuy needs to start carrying that one!
