Can work in most situations to record through your recorder. I plugged the Firestick HDMI male end into the female port of a small HDMI/component cord converter device available at Best Buy for $39.95 - I got an open box deal for $22.95. Then you need 3 component cords (or a single cord that has 3 connectors - costs $5.95) for audio left (white) and right (red) and video (yellow). Plug one end of the three cords into the converter device component cord ports, then the other ends into the component “in” ports on your recorder. Booom!!! - you can now view and be able to record through your recorder without using any of the limited memory on your firestick!! Slightly lower fidelity but great for nearly all applications. Especially for recording shows then viewing later and skipping all commercials.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Disgrace! You wouldn't be able to use this through a dvd/vcr unit, as it needs an HDMI port to function. In the event your dvd/vcr unit does have this input, it would only operate as a pass through for the fire tv stick. Hope this helps, enjoy your day!
