• I use an insignia digital antenna to get over the air free broadcast. There are many apps to choose from ie food channel, CBS, NBC...some you pay for and some are free. The antenna was under $15.00 at Best Buy.

• You would have to have a cable subscription in order to watch the network apps like tnt,lifetime,history ect...

• You are able to watch regular local channels by using apps. You should be able to download free apps from Amazon store. TubiTV provides endless movies and etc. for free. PBS is one of my regular apps, since I like to watch its programs without ads.

• you do not get any tv channels with Amazon Fire Stick or Amazon Prime. If you get prime, you can access shows from those channels through the various channel apps, but you cannot watch actual TV channels. If you do not have a cable provider, however, you won't be able to as most apps require you to have a subscription to watch their stored shows. (that is for the apps itself - Prime has it's own bank of stored shows)

• You cannot watch local channels. You are limited to the apps available on the Fire Stick for your streaming options. If those channels have streaming apps then you can watch them, but without cable you're not going to be able to watch anything live on (most) cable channels.
