It depends on the TV. My Insignia brand TV does nothing when I am on another input and press a button on the Fire remote, but I read another user was able to switch inputs by pressing the Home button on his Fire remote. It may be that my TV is not HDMI CEC compatible and that may be required for this feature to work. Any remote that will switch TV inputs will work though. Your universal remote should be able to switch your input to the Fire TV and from there yo could use the Fire remote or a mobile device to control.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Most smart TVs we recognize what it is
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It will switch inputs on tv once you turn it on or off.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes,it works. I use the provided remote and no matter what channel the TV is on if you hit a button on the fire stick it automatically change to the appropriate hdmi channel and tien the stick on.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It doesn't automatically switch ports. Unless your tv has some sort of feature like that
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. With the fire stick, you will have to switch it back. I have mines in my receiver, in the DVD port which allows me to play the fire stick sound through my surround sound instead of playing directly through the TV speakers it self.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The stick can do the same as for switching back you would have to do that on your own. Most new hdmi device can do that my ps4 does the same thing as well as the Amazon stick its a setting you turn on in the tv settings. But there is no way for it to change back after your done with any device.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Most recent vintage TVs will respond to an active HDMI port, however, with multiple active ports it depends of the TVs firmware and/or what may have been programmed during initial setup. I have a Sharp integrated DVD/HDTV which automatically defaults to the DVD input when a disc is inserted but that's the extent of it's auto detection. With the Fire TV Stick I need to manually change the input via the remote.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You have to change the "Input" on your menu when switching between the Fire Stick and your cable provider. Same if you use a DVD player. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I can tell you that when I hit the Amazon Fire Stick remotes home button (or maybe even any button on it) that my TV switches to the right port and the amazon content pops up...but then when I'm done since I don't think there is an off button on the remote you have to find your TV remote and change the input back to whichever port you have your Cable input on.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
