No if you include a hd antena wich is good for local chanels and some free extras the picture quality is great and best part no bill. (Performance depends on antena placement and available signals in area) but for what these antenas are worth its Worth looking into.

However, you can stream off your mac/ipad/iphone without cable. Also purchase movies/music. You need to subscribe to hulu or netflix to gain access to those services.

Purchase an Apple TV and pair it to your internet and you'll have more program options then you'll know what to do with.. Some free as far as older shows and movies go but there's many other network TV options under ten dollars a month !
