Don't know if you still need an answer to your question, but if you do, here goes. The Fire TV Stick connects directly to an HDMI port on yourvTV. You don't run it through a browser. I bought it primarily to use with Amazon Prime, but I'm also using some other apos with it. Prime movies, Prime Music, Netflix, Crackle and AllCast all work great. Plug the stick into an HDMI port, let it download any updates, and you're good to go. I have mine plugged into an HDMI port on my A/V receiver (Yamaha). Picture quality is excellent. I have a 7 channel surround system with high quality gear, so sound quality is also excellent. Overall a great device. Got mine from Best Buy on sale for $25, but even at the regular price of $40 it's still well worth the price. I'll be buying another one to use with anothet TV (although you can just remove it from one tv and connect to another).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.this is it's own device and doesn't need a pc or anything else at all.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My chromecast utilizes with netflix and hulu. You need a cell phone to work this, which I find to be better then using it onto a computer. When you open netflix, youtube and hulu on your cellphone gives you a box on the corner of the app, when you click it, it streams straight to your tv at ease and you'll still be able to use your cellphone for whatever, This also works with tablets. If you have other types of video on your cellphone you can use apps like toastercast to send it to the TV. As for the Fire tv stick, You do not need a cellphone, tablet or computer its all in that little stick, which is great. I would suggest figuring out how to use your chromecast first, but from what you've send and can't figure it out, the fire tv stick will work for you.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.the Amazon Fire Stick is designed to attach directly to your TV HDMI port. You do not need to use your computer for viewing and 'casting' content etc. I have Chromecast Stick, Apple TV and also Amazon Fire Stick - i found the fire stick to be very similar to Apple TV. Firestick also comes with a remote control. use the remote to find, select and view the movies or shows you want to watch.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It just needs the internet and you need an amazon account but that doesn't mean you need to pay for amazon prime. You pick and choose your apps to use. It connects to your routers wifi, sign into amazon and choose your apps like netflix or hulu and it also has some free ones too.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This plug directly into the TV's HDMI and uses your WIFI. I have never had any problems with its performance.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Trying to see the question here, but for the sake of clarification, the Fire Stick does not need to connect to a PC, the USB is for powering the device, and maybe transferring media to the on board 8GB storage.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I feel your pain with the Chromecast, but this device is more similar to your Roku as it has a "Computer interface" you control everything from the Amazon Firetv stick, it even comes with a remote that does not require direct line of sight. you don't need some laptop or tablet or phone or even a Phablet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.First the fire stick is the most amazing device. It cost 39$ if you don't like it u can return it or I'll buy it from you. It will connect to the HDMI on your TV and then use the remote to turn it on. Also able to side load 3rd party apps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The third party apps work way better on the stick than on the chrome cast due to faster processors.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
