I have my stereo hooked up to my TV with the Fire TV Stick and it works just fine. I used an optical cable. My sound bar, which is hooked up to another TV is installed the same way with the optical cable and that one works fine as well with the FTV Stick.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There may be a setting in the tv under audio that you'll have to change audio outputs on. Usually the optical is default for all outgoing audio though.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a Vizio soundbar connected to my Sharp TV and the audio from the stick comes through the sound bar.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the same set up and the sound bar works the same way as using regular TV. In my case, I use the HDMI connection adapter that came in the package.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.May need to check your menu settings on your TV and look at your audio output section. There should be an option there to use the external soundbar but every brand has a slightly different looking menu.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. That is an interesting problem. Can you check the TV settings? Maybe somehow the Firestick is changing where the sound is going, but you may be able to change it back with the TV remove and Settings
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My Panasonic sound bar has only two options, TV or DVD and I have it set to TV and works good with TV but when I change to the HDMI port with the Firestick, no sound from sound bar so guess I just have to live with the TV speakers.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is does not sound like a FireStick problem rather a sound bar setup issue. have you checked your sound bar settings / selections to make sure you have the right input selected?
