• The TV most support HDMI connection to get the image and sound properly. This implies that the TV must support other inputs/source. Programming is similar to using a computer. You can pick the app for ESPN and other channels. This is not going to replace your normal TV with local channels. Not all channels are on this service. • If the tv has Hdmi inputs it will work. If it does not then the Fire Stick is not for him. These are designed to work with wi-fi set ups so he will need Internet with a wireless router . It will convert any HDMI ready tv to a smart tv

• Need to have an HDMI input in back of TV (( like for a blu-ray player)) and fast enough Internet / WiFi to stream. You can use the mic to find certain thing but will still need to see the tv to confirm the search result.....hope this sorta helped

• not all apps are compatible with the alexa voice remote. It does help for global search such as finding a specific app, but not finding a program within in the app.
