Can I use a DVR to record shows/movies with Fire TV? null

I haven’t tried this. I’m not sure if it would work or not. You would probably need a stand alone dvr

No. At this time there are not any DVR's capable of capturing a streamed program. That said, most of the things I stream are not network TV and they generally have a pause, fast forward and reverse command available. Even a few of the live television programs offer some commands. However, this is not currently available on major networks you can stream. Also, there is not usually a record process (DirectTV Now does offer 20 hours of recorded storage).

It does not have its own DVR capability at this time but services like Sling TV and Directv now have DVR capabilities for their streaming services accessible with the FireTV.
