Yes you can. But... The pictures will be in grayscale, no colors. The Oasis is an E-reader. Which equals black & white.

It's either from your kindle library or you download to a mac book or laptop then you save (save as option) to your kindle using a cable. Format must be compatible with kindle though; to be able to open download.
