“Can you tell if you have purchased the newest generation by the box? I purchased a Kindle Paperwhite and was told that it was the newest one. I think that it may be the 2nd generation. How can I telll which model that I have for sure? I bought this somewhere else. The Kindle name below the screen is in white not black.”

The Kindle Paperwhite 2 has the Kindle logo below the screen in white and the Paperwhite 3 is in piano black. The other way to verify which version you have in look at the fonts available while reading a book. The new Paperwhite 3 has a new font named Bookerly that was specifically designed for the new 300 ppi display. I hope this helps.
