“Can I use this device for Topographic Maps in PDF Format? I want a device with long battery life that will display maps and the various layers, in the pdf file, while off grid. I understand the smaller gps units or phones are difficult to use due to the screen size. I know this E-Reader is somewhat large for a pack. Would this system be a good choice for off grid viewing of pre-downloaded pdf topographic mapping (signal/system permitting via computer or Wi-Fi) or am I on the wrong trail.”

• I think you will want a color device to display topo maps. Kindle paperwhite is actually small and ideal for a pack, but not color.

• It should be able to display any PDF, i don't know how good it will look though.

• This is the paperwhite, great for reading, I don't know about map reading. I am sure if is a book it would work.
